Scholarship Details
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarship supports Undergraduate, Master’s, PhD, and Diploma studies in Germany. It covers various courses, except pure study abroad programs outside the EU. The funding period follows BAföG regulations, with up to 40 scholarships awarded annually.

- Master’s: April 30, 2025 (Summer) / October 31, 2025 (Winter)
- Bachelor/Diploma/Magister: After the 1st semester, up to 3 semesters before graduation
- Medical Students: After the 4th semester, up to the 6th semester

How to Apply
To apply for the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Scholarship, follow these steps:
- Online Application: Fill out the online form with basic details about your background.
At this stage, no extra documents are required
If unsure, you can consult one of 480 trusted lecturers before applying.
- Document Submission: If shortlisted, you will receive an email requesting further documents, including:
- Two expert reports from university professors (or high school teachers for first-year students).
- Details of your academic history and socio-political involvement.
- You will have three weeks to upload the documents and up to six weeks for the reports.
- Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for two interviews—one with a trusted lecturer and another with a selection committee member.
- Final Selection: The selection committee meets multiple times a year to make the final decision on scholarship acceptance.
